Arthur lives in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He's 19 years old and
he studies Criminology on the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Since his early
youth Arthur is photographing bunkers, forts and other relics from the both
World Wars. From his 12th year he specialized mainly on German World War 2
bunkers along the European coasts. Every year he visits sites mainly in Holland
and France. In the summers one- or two-week trips lead to further distances like
Denmark, Germany, southern France and Norway.
In the 'early days' he was using a Canon point and shoot analogue camera which
he got from his grandpa. He switched to a Konica Z-up 110 Super compact analogue
camera, but with some zoom range. In that time the enormous amount of $175,- had
to be spent. In 2001 he got his first digital camera which was the HP 315. Point
and shoot to the bone, but he made some nice pictures with it.
In November 2003 he bought his HP 945 after about 4 months of deciding. The
price was great though, the quality wasn't, he now has his third camera, the
others had to be returned due to dust on the sensor and bad pixels. But this was
probably bad luck. Although he thinks he made some great photos with this
camera, he wants to move to a higher segment of the camera market. He's still
deciding whether to go for a friend's second hand Minolta A2 or a new dSLR like
the Canon 300D or the Nikon D70.
